FRIDAY
Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design Gallery
Closing Reception for “Consumer Goods?”
From 6-9PM, head out to the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design Gallery at Georgia State University for the closing reception of MFA student Matt Sigmon’s “Consumer Goods?” The exhibition explores the dichotomy of consumer commodity and fine art object. All the objects in the exhibit are handcrafted copies of original, industrially manufactured commodities.
Solomon Projects
Poised
From 6-8PM, stop by the Solomon Projects, a contemporary art gallery, to see the latest prints by Ridley Howard, Scott Ingram, Odili Donald Odita, and Jeff Sonhouse. The exhibition runs through April 25 and features limited edition prints published by Firsthand Editions of Charlotte, NC.
Kibbee Gallery
Test Run
The first show at the new Kibbee Gallery is opening with “Test Run,” a group exhibit that features an eclectic mix of Atlanta artists. The artistic diversity of Atlanta’s contemporary art scene is the overarching theme. The art will fill the gallery with a complex array of colors, textures, and styles. The opening reception is from 7-10PM. The exhibit will be on view through April 11.
Beep Beep Gallery Show at Kavarna
Beep Beep Gallery presents a show at Kavarna in Decatur featuring the work of Kelly McKernan, Luke Haynes, Gordon Gyor, Jay Davis, Nathan Phaneuf, and Ashleigh Fedo. The opening is from 8-11PM. The show runs through April 8.
SATURDAY
Fine Line Gallery
Mixed Messages
The opening for this new exhibition at Fine Line Gallery is from 7-11PM. The show features new works by Ron Richard, Jim Anderson, Anthony Ardavin, Teresa Levine, J.H. Allen, M. Rae Collins, Lisa Taliano, Kyle Goderwis, Marc West, Julie Ross, Douglas Fromm, Jeff W. Paclipan, Nicole Merkens, and Kelly L. Morgenstern. On view through April 11, it presents works that speak messages interpreted through various mediums.
Beep Beep Gallery
Diet: New Works by Dosa Kim
From 8-11PM, visit Beep Beep Gallery to see new works by Dosa Kim in a new exhibition entitled “Diet” (See also Culture Surfing). The show runs through April 5.
Solomon Projects
Artist Talk
In case you can’t make it to the opening, or if you would like more information about the show, Solomon Projects is presenting a gallery talk in conjunction with their exhibition featuring artist and master printmaker Ryan Burkhart. At 11AM he will lead a discussion about the relevance of printmaking in contemporary society.

Spruill Gallery
Play
In a time of great challenges, “Play” is the Spruill Gallery’s artistic stimulus exhibition. It offers the opportunity for you to freely explore your natural senses of curiosity and wonder. The opening is from 6-9PM, and the exhibit runs through April 25.
Emory Visual Arts Gallery
Divine Chaos: A Journey into India
Stop by the Emory Visual Arts Gallery from 5:30-7:30 to see new ceramic works by professor Diane Solomon Kempler. “Divine Chaos: A Journey into India” was inspired by Kempler’s recent experience in India and the mystical reality of daily life there. The exhibition will remain on display through April 24.
