Family Day at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. All photos by Jessica Horwitz.

Here’s another photo essay by Jessica Horwitz from last weekend’s stroll through the Westside Arts District. Click below for more photos of the walk!

Some of my favorites? James E. Routh’s charcoal drawings at the GA Tech Paper Museum are solemn reminders of what the Great Depression meant for the South. Meanwhile at Emily Amy Gallery, several reasonably priced works by Meta Gary and others remain sadly unclaimed. (Click here for Meghan Norman’s review. The show closes August 26.) But at least Family Day at the Contemporary seems to have drawn a small, happy crowd. In the background, you can see wall of local entries to the Fundred Dollar Bill Project.
