Idea Capital Fall 2009 Winners to receive much needed cash

Idea Capital released the list of its latest funding recipients over the weekend in what amounts to the group’s largest giving initiative since its founding in 2008. Over $4,700 in funds will be split between six members of Atlanta’s creative community. The award amounts, recipients, and project proposals are listed below.

$1500 . . . Robert Cheatham
New book projects through FORT!/da? Publications highlighting Atlanta area artists and architects

$1000 . . . Queen Sheba
Rough Language, a slam poetry competition and community volunteer project

$750 . . . Patricia Henritze and Nicole Livieratos
Proximity, a film for interdisciplinary performance

$500 . . . Stefani Byrd and Wes Eastin
Mask, a large-scale, temporary public sculpture

$500 . . . Joseph Wheeler III
Onyxcon, a African Diasporic comic book cultural gathering

$500 . . . Cecelia Kane
Hand to Hand Project Catalog, a printed catalog of ongoing installation project
