MARCH 20! Fulton County Arts & Culture's Abernathy Arts Center is calling for submissions by Georgia artists. Winners will receive up to $1000 in cash prizes.

MARCH

National Endowment for the Arts Our Town Grants
Awardees will receive between $25,000 and $150,000 for proposed projects in the Atlanta area.
Deadline: March 10

The National Endowment of the Arts is seeking to fund a series of artists with ideas for improving neighborhoods and urban areas. Proposals should include “creative place-making projects that contribute toward the livability of communities.” For more information on how to apply, visit NEA’s website.

Fulton County Arts Grants
Recipients will receive up to $150,000 in grants funding.
Deadline: March 15

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners has recently opened up a new cycle of funding, calling on artist collectives, artists, and non-profit arts organizations to submit grant applications for up to $150,000 in funding for projects in Fulton County. If interested in applying, the Fulton County Arts & Culture commission is also offering workshops to aid in the application process. Creative Capital Core Weekend Workshop
24 Atlanta-area artists will be offered a slot at this extremely informative workshop.
Deadline: March 16

Flux Projects and PushPush Theater are teaming up to co-host Creative Capital’s Core Weekend Workshop, what’s been described as a “crash course in self-management, strategic planning, fundraising, and promotion.” This workshop offers useful business information for artists, including lectures, peer critiques, one-on-one consultations, interactive exercises, handouts, and written assignments. Photographer’s Choice 2012
Selected artists will be featured on the Atlanta Photography Group website, and will have a chance to sell their work at the Photographer’s Choice 2012 exhibition.
Deadline: March 17

Atlanta Photography Group is hosting its annual Photographer’s Choice exhibition, which offers photographers an opportunity to submit and sell works for over a month between March 30 and May 18, 2012. This is an opportunity for artists to promote themselves, as well as to showcase new works or works that do not fit into other cohesive series. You must be an APG member to submit. Georgia Artists: A Juried Exhibit
Awardees will receive cash prizes of up to $1000.
Deadline: March 20

Fulton County Arts & Culture’s Abernathy Art Center is calling on Georgia artists working in all matter of media to submit works for a juried exhibition that will take place between May 4 and June 15, 2012. Jurors include BURNAWAY’s own Executive Director, Susannah Darrow, Memorial Tattoo’s Sam Parker, and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia’s President and Director, Annette Cone-Skelton. There is a $35 entry fee, and all art works must have been completed within the past three years. To apply you will need to fill out this entry form.

APRIL

Chinati Foundation Artist in Residence in Marfa, Texas
Artists will be offered an apartment at the museum, a studio in Marfa, and a $1000 stipend.
Deadline: April 1

The Chinati Foundation, well-known for its collection of modern art, is offering artists a chance to live and work on the museum grounds, as well as gain access to its archive of art works. Grand Canyon’s Artist-in-Residency Programs
Two artists will gain access to one of two live/work spaces along the Grand Canyon for six months to a year.
Deadline: April 1

The National Park Service offers a number of residency opportunities throughout its various parks, one of the most popular being its Grand Canyon Artist-in-Residence program. There are currently two locations along the Grand Canyon: a cabin on the less populated northern rim where you would live and work from April to October of 2013, and a fully equipped apartment and studio in the Visitor Center along the southern rim, available from October 2012 to September of 2013. ArtLA: Student Artist of the Year
The winning art student will be given $10,000, an Apple Macbook package, and sundry other prizes.
Deadline: April 10

ArtLA, conceived by a number of gallery owners in Los Angeles, works to support and promote artists across the globe. In an effort to encourage newer artists, they are offering all currently enrolled arts students in the U.S. an opportunity to win $10,000 and a variety of tools to foster their creativity, including an Apple Macbook package. 2012 Art on the BeltLine Public Art Proposals
Selected artists will receive funding to execute a work of art or performance along new corridors of the Atlanta BeltLine.
Deadline: April 16

In anticipation of opening new segments of Atlanta’s unused rail system, the Atlanta BeltLine is once again calling for public art proposals to be displayed and performed later in the year. There is funding available to help execute various projects spanning the spectrum of the arts. Metro Montage XII Juried Exhibition
Winning artists will receive up to $750 in cash prizes.
Deadline: April 24

The Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art is organizing its twelfth Metro Montage juried exhibition, which will be displayed from July 7 to September 8, 2012. All media is accepted, and will be judged by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Geanna M. Barlaam. Entry fees include $35 for museum members and $40 for non-members. Getty Grants for Editorial Photography
Five photographers will be given $20,000 in grants funding to support their photojournalism.
Deadline: May 1

Acknowledging the time and effort it takes to create compelling works of photojournalism, Getty Images is offering $20,000 to help five photojournalists pay for equipment, travel, and costs of living. Grants are open to all photojournalists, who will be judged by a renowned collection of photographers, photojournalists, and editors. For information on how to apply, visit their website.

Outside the Frame Call for Entries
Selected photographers will have the opportunity to show and sell their works at the Atlanta Photography Group gallery for six weeks.
Deadline: May 5

The Atlanta Photography Group is hosting another juried exhibition, titled Outside the Frame, which will take place between June 8 and July 27, 2012. Fall Line Press publisher William Boling, the juror for the show, will be looking for works that “amaze and amuse; that astound and confound.” Applicants must be APG members, or become members in the application process. Aaron Siskind Foundation 2012 Individual Photographer’s Fellowship
A collection of photographers will receive grants of up to $10,000 each.
Deadline: May 18

The Aaron Siskind Foundation is calling on photographers and photo-based artists to submit applications for grants funding. Artists will be judged on their past accomplishments and their creative promise in the future. Students may not apply. For more information visit the foundation’s website.
